  • What do we offer?

    Select Appliances is an independent business offering repairs and servicing for major brand gas fires, cookers and boilers. We also have a large showroom where you can see a wide range of gas and electric fires, fire suites and fireplaces that we can supply and install. We have been trading for over 25 years and have a wealth of experience and knowledge in the heating industry.

  • Visiting our Showroom

    Due to the reduced number of staff, we now offer visits by appointment. This means that we can spend more time with you assisting what is quite a major purchase. When you book your appointment, we will ask you some questions and may ask you to bring in photos and sizes of what you are looking to replace. Simply call us on Plymouth 480099 or send an email to

  • How can I find out about what fires and fireplaces you now offer?

    Simply click on to the tabs for the various product ranges. You will find some basic information plus a list of manufacturers we use with a link to their online catalogues. Once you have an idea of what you are interested in simply give us a call for more information or to book an appointment.

  • Do you offer advice on the suitability of your product ranges?

    Yes we do. You can either call the office and speak to our exisiting team who can have a preliminary chat about what you may need, or you can email a photo (not too large or too many) with an idea of what you have or would like to do and we can then get in touch.

  • What sort of guarantee will I receive on my new gas or electric fire?

    All manufacturers offer a 12-month parts and labour guarantee. Some offer up to 15 years subject to conditions. Please ask for details or see the handbook supplied with your fire. If unsure, please contact us.

  • How do I know that what I have chosen will be suitable?

    Our knowledgeable staff can offer expert advice based on your individual needs. However, on occasion, it may be necessary for someone to do a home visit. This can be arranged at the time of order.

  • How long does it take from point of order to the installation?

    This depends on the manufacturer. Fires on average take from five to seven days and fireplaces from two to six weeks, with an average delivery of three weeks. It may take longer for anything that is tailor-made and during the winter months when demand is high. Generally, all orders are placed at the time of sale so you can leave knowing you have an installation date all sorted out in advance. Where this is not the case, we will endeavour to let you know as soon as possible. If there are any supplies issues with your order, we will let you know as soon as we have become aware of them.

  • Who will do the installation work?

    We have our own fully qualified Gas Safe registered installers. They only work for us and only install our range of products. They will bring along everything to do the job. All of our installation work is notified to Gas Safe and in due course, you will receive a certificate for inclusion in your Home Information pack.

  • How often should I have my appliances serviced?

    All manufacturers recommend that gas appliances are serviced on an annual basis. It is important to point out that a safety check is not the same as a service when you are comparing offers. Please ask for more information. Many of our customers benefit from our reminder service to assist them in ensuring that their gas appliances are checked every year.
